INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger paste
  • 1/4 tablespoons of baking soda
  • Fresh ginger
  • 1 egg
  • Coat with cornstarch
  • Lemon honey

Preparation:

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger paste, and baking soda. Add the chicken pieces and mix well to ensure they’re fully coated. Let it marinate for 20–30 minutes to tenderize and absorb the flavours.

  2. Prepare the Coating: Beat the egg in a separate bowl. Dredge each marinated chicken piece first in the beaten egg, then coat generously with cornstarch for a light, crispy texture.

  3. Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the coated chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

  4. Make the Glaze: In a small saucepan, lightly sauté freshly grated ginger, then add a generous drizzle of Honey & Greens Lemon Honey. Stir to warm and slightly thicken the glaze.

  5. Combine: Toss the fried chicken in the warm honey-lemon glaze until evenly coated.

  6. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped spring onions if desired. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or as a flavourful appetiser.
